Hi all,

I am new to the network environment and I install programs quite often on a little network - 20 computers - (W2K server). Is it possible to do so on the background while users are connected and without them to notice anything?

Ideally, I'd like to be able to install .exe files using IP address\C$ from the server, but I don't think it's possible.

Alternatively, I'd like to have a popping window just asking for admin username and password while attempting an install logged on as any limited user. Obviously I do not want to change the GP settings to give users admin rights.

So if there's any scrypt or anything else that allows to do this, please let me know.

Thanks

PS: I'm French so forgive my english. I hope this thread makes sense though :)

Thanks for that campyracr, but I knew this method already and use it for VB coding install remotely. This option does not work with .exe install remotely.

Moreover, I removed the run command on users' a/c for security reason.

I control the servers and users' computers from my XP machine and install programs only when users are off. I could save stack of time if I was able to do all this on the background without disturbing the workflow. Do you have any suggestion?
