I've a meridian system SL1 with option 11 and would like to install a printer on this system so i can print my user list and so on. I have an Epson printer with a parrallel to serial converter. Is anyone add this problem??

I've tried to install it but no luck? do i need a serial priter only?

thanks

What type and model of terminal are use using?

VT520

I guess that I don't understand why you don't capture the data through a terminal session on your PC and then print from there?

Terminal is a vt520.
how can i run terminal session from my pc?

thanks

Connect your PC's serial port to the Meridian and use Hyperterminal to connect to it. You'll have to configure the terminal session as 9600, N, 8, 1 and you will need a null modem connector.

Then you can simply capture the data that you see on the screen, reformat it and then print it on a more legible printer. Or just store it electronically where you can do an automated search.

With the VT520 terminal you can connect the printer to either a serial or parallel port. Serial ports are labled 1 to 3. The parellel port is a DB25 closest to the power cord. You must then setup the terminal for printing. Press f3, arrow down to printer, select the port you are connected to, type of printer and baud rate etc if serial. Save your settings. Press F2 to print screen and ctrl/F2 to turn on and off printing.
