I'm trying to install a Mitel PRI card in a 200 ICP. The PRI Card was taken from a 200 EL system. The card is configured and tested good. I've done several in EL systems over the years with no trouble. The ICP system is licensed for 2 digital links. There is a STM3 clock module in the system.

The ICP system has 2 ASU and 2 ELX cabinets connected by CIMs to the controller.

Can I use this PRI card? Will it still go in slot 10? and Program slot 10 as another bay? I am going to use Bay 3, slot 10. I've already programmed Bay 3, slot 6 as the T1 card.

The manual says use form 53 to program the bay required as an ISDN node. When I go to form 53 it doesn't let
me configure bay 4 as the ISDN node. It tells me bay slot circuit 01/01/00 is already programmed (or something like that). I haven't installed the card yet.

I can do all of the DID / COS / Trunk / Feature options programming.

My problem is just getting the card installed and recognized. Can you help?

The PRI card needs a CIM module to connect to the ICP.

so i have to attach a CIM to the PRI card?

I believe in the controller there are two spare CIM ports.

Absolutely - there is a daughter card position on the PRI card that will accept either a FIM or CIM Module.

You will likely need to change the Dip Switches on the PRI card to modify where they get their connection from.

When the PRI card is installed in a Main Control ELx system the card can be installe in either slot 10 or 11 and be configured to clock from the backplane.

When the PRI card is installed in a Peripheral Bay (ICP or ELX system. It is still installed in slot 10 or 11 but must connect to the main controller via a FIM or CIM.

i'm new to this ICP system. Can you tell me, if I have 2 ASUs and two ELX cabinets, all with Copper connections back to the controller, would I have a spare copper CIM to connect this PRI Card? I believe I saw two spare CIM ports on the controller, but I am not 100% sure what I have here.

Can I hot plug in the copper patch cable to the CIM and hot plug in the PRI card with CIM in the peripheral node?
