I have been learning linux for a while but haven't done anything other than elementary tasks.

I have this touch screen monitor i am trying to install drivers for, on a linux RH 9 v.2.4.31 Compact Flash. I dont know how this structure works, nor do I know where drivers are housed, and where and how they are installed.

Can any1 give me a theory lesson in how drivers are installed. I need to know how this works in theory first then practice. What dir should I be looking for, where do drivers get installed at etc.

Thanks

Go to Download a kernel.
Read up on kernel compiling. Compile your own kernel. Voila.
