Hi folks,

following problem:

We need to install some software on our machine that comes on a 3.5" diskette. But the machine we need this software on does not have a diskette drive.

What we do have, is another RS6000 system that has one.
Is there any way to extract the software from diskette, to transfer it over to the other machine via ftp and to install it there or a way to mount the diskette drive via nfs ?

Any ideas how we could do it?
(What we can't do is remove the diskette drive from the other machine...)

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Thomas

you can
dd if=/dev/floppy of=/tmp/floppy1
etc
on some other *NIX
and then remount ramdisk many times (mkrd is the command) to install
