I have a 2 port ata module. I connect it to two digital ext pairs, the first ext on pairs 4 and 5 the second on 3 and 6 on the input. On the out I do the same and only 4 and 5 work?

I have three new modes and they all do the same thing, what am I doing wrong?

Please help the confused!

There is no such thing as a 2 port ATA, there is only a single port ATA (which it sounds like you have) and an ASM (which is like a regular station module). So your only going to get one analog station out of it. I'm not sure what you mean about "3 new modes all doing the same thing" but if you need 3 analog stations to do the same thing you can loop the the output of your ATA, but only 1 analog device can be used at any given time. If that doesn't work for you you'll need to get 2 more ATA's or just get an ASM this will give 8 analog stations in 1 module, you'll just have to weigh the cost and see if it's worth it.

Good Luck

I think you have an ATA-2, that is just the second version of the ATA (single station terminal adapter) JerryReeve

Maybe you taking about VMI ,this unit has two analog extensions. But this one has 4 jacks two for digtal ext. ,and the other 2 for the output (analog) extenssion ,Just a thought.

Good thought sam, I forgot about those. I've never tried, but can the VMI's be used as a 2 port ATA?

thanks for the info guys...i just thought ATA 2 was two ports? Not one.. gotta send them back...

Roldan,
Yes ,you can use VMI as 2 ATA ,no problems. But its too hard to find nowadays and its expensive.

I have an MICS system with ASM and I can not remember how to program a port for direct access to outside line. Any help in this matter would be appreciated.

fiberman40,

1. Under Services, build a Route and point it to a Pool Group. Then build a Destination Code and point it to the Route.
2. Under Terminals & Sets/Line Access change PRIME LINE: NONE to INTERCOM for the analog station.
3. Under Terminals & Sets/Capabilities change HOTLINE: __ to be EXTERNAL, then HOTLINE DIGITS DIALED OUT: to be the Destination Code in step 1 and then change the USE LINE: __ to be USE ROUTING TABLE.
4. Give the station in question Line Pool Access to the Pool Group in step 1.

Good Luck!!
