How to insert data from datalist to database

Hello experts..
i m stuck into a problem , where i have a page which had datalist.Datalist has few labels describing about the object to be added in cart while doing online shopping.
when i click on link button "add to cart" i should be able to add the details of that item in the database table..
how can i do this??

Please help me..i wil be thankful

You could use a DataAdaptor or loop through the list and run an Insert query for each record.
