I am running a report program on Mpe/ix. when I run this program for 1 month I am able to get the report without anyproblem. But when I am running the same program for last 12 months,I am having problem writing to the spoolfile. I need to increase the default size of allocated memory for the spoolfile. How do I do it?
Thanks very much for any help possible.

Hmmm - haven't dealt with this in ages. Used to be you had to change a parameter you changed in sysgen (or the equivalent) and you had to IPL your system to make the change. I don't see that parameter in sysgen any longer. What version of MPE/iX are you running?

What error message are you getting?

Can you route the file to disk instead of the spool to confirm that there is not a program problem first (e.g. a loop)?

Are you sure you have enough disk space? You may not be exceeding any limit on spool file size but may be running out of space on the disk drives that are set up to hold spool files. :)SHOWDEV SPOOL should show the disk drives where spool files can reside).

Regards.

what error message/number are you getting when the program terminates?

Hello Taw,
Its been a while seeing you. Actually I am not working with HP3000 system everyday.

I get an error saying HFX (this an output file) WRITE error. Which come from an INVALID clause of WRITE HFX. Unfortunately It gives no error code.

Update:
Actually the system has a program to edit this File (UNIFLSZ) . I cam to know that from the person who maintained/partly wrote the system. I went to that program and increased tha diskspace allocated. (which ultimately writes to this UNIFLSZ file) and was able to run the report sucessfully.

Thanks to you all. I will come with a tougher question next time :)
