How to include XML into ASP

Hello forum.
I have general architecture question to ask.

My pages are constructed dynamically based on contents of database.
Each page has 4 functional areas:
* Folder tabs at upper part;
* Side Bar at the left;
* Content Area
* Footer Area.
Each of the functional area is populated by ASP function which in turn goes to the database.

Side Bar and content area will be populated with XML tags which will be written by ASP function.

Here is the question. What output should ASP functions produce in order to integrate the XML tags. Or if it is impossible what is the other alternative to integrage the XML snippets to the ASP page?
