How to importing emails?

Hi, I just formatted my computer, keeping the .dbx files as email backups. However, replacing the files in the windows directory doesn't replace the lost emails.

Is there a way I can import these dbx files into Outlook Express 5??

You may have a problem, I believe the .pst file holds email.

Oh, it's ok. In making the backup they had become read-only files. Reverting this makes them work in case anyone else needs to know.

You have to open Outlook Express and import them there. It is under File | Import.

Sometimes it is real weird in the way in which it imports. Sometimes even though the files have been saved correctly, it will not import. So...I export as a comma delimited file and copy the .dbx files.
