Can anyone tell me if there's a way to save a master page so that you can apply it to other pagemaker files without having to cut and paste and risk not having everything aligned exactly as the original page with master? Please help!

Hi,

I would say create your master page ans save it as a pagemaker document. When you start a new project open the pagemaker document with the masterpage you wan't to use and start your document from there.

hope this helps

It would be preferable to save it as a template, that will prevent corruption of the document many generations from now.

Re for classroom: PM6.5
When you want to make versions of the same template on separate floppy disks (A:drive) on a PC is it okay to just copy a template to the disk or will it minimise corruption to use the 'duplicate' function? I'm not sure of this 'duplicate' purpose.

Would it be safer to place the template on a network system so students can go into the master computer and save the template from there?

This is to produce a book at the printers

To copy to a floppy or any removable media or remote drive, open Windows Explorer, and drage the file to the remote drive, the files will copy to that location. This will reduce the possibility of corruption. NEVER "save" or "save as" to a remote directory or removable media. When in doubt, deny all terms and defnitions.
