How to import excal data into the table

I would like to import the data form excel to the btrieve table. I have tried using the import function provided by pervasive data manager but it requested that the data to be in .sdf format. How to convert .xls to .sdf format?
Help!!!

Try "Text (Tab Delimited) *.txt" in Excel and see if that works

As another option you can check out BtSearch at It allows you to import dbase or ascii files. If you export your excel data to dbase format and then load your file in BtSearch you can select to import that .dbf file.
