I have a Crystal report that I need to identify the database source for the report, and is it a base on a Crystal Query or not.

I'm clueless about Crystal Report software so please excuse my ignorance with this question.

I just need to find out where the source is coming from, how to change to a different data source and modify the SQL query in the background.

I've tried numerous time to change the datasource using Database/Set Location but it still display the old source location. Opening the SQL window shows a default query statment that appears on all reports that I have.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

If you do a set location, and you get a file that ends with QRY then your report is using a Query.

If so, you can only point it to another QRY file. You can't convert it to read the tables directly.

If you have the SQL designer you can open the QRY itself and modify the SQL statement. However, I believe you need the professional version of CR to do that. Ken Hamady
