How to identify actively running SQL statements 1

MySQL is consuming 97% of my CPU and I want to know what it's doing. I know in Oracle and MS SQL I can find out what SQL statements are currently being executed. Is there a similar utility in MySQL? How do I use it?

I don't know of any facility to enquire on currently-running queries, but the Slow Query Log could prove useful. See
