Need some guidance on this. The problem is:

I have a sheet of approx 3000 names (Say in column A) I then have another sheet with the same 3000 names but in column B are names inserted alongside the originals in column A. This spreadsheet or list is a christmas card list and so there will be approx 30 people placing there names alongside the customers in column A so this will have to be done several times, therefore i think i would have to place additional names in cells. Not sure of the way to start tackling this.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Hi,

You really did not tell us what you want to do with the names in sheet1 and the names and additional column of names.

I take it that the 3000 names are Customers and the other names are your associates. Is this to generate a Mailing List for Christmas Cards from each Associate? If that's the case, then the "Mailing List" needs to have 2 columns...

Associate
Customer

There will be many Customers for each Associate.

Is the question how to do that?

If so, here's what I would suggest to cut down on the typing.

1. Name the Customer list on sheet1 using the Name Box just above A1 -- select all names and type Customers in the Name Box

2. Make a list of all Associates and name that list as well.

3. On a new sheet make 2 headings, Associate, Customer

4. in the column below associate select all the cells, menu item Data/Validation - select Allow List - type
=Associates
in the Source textbox

5. do the same for the Customer column

now adding an associate and customer is just point 'n' click

Hope this helps ;-)
