How to I reformat HD

I caught a virus, and now my Norton AV 2002 won't run. I have major files infected. I want to reformat the HD and start over. My os is Win2k Pro. How do I do this????

Probably the best way would be an earlier version boot disk, fdisk to remove nos-dos partition, make the cd bootable and let it rip. Ed Fair

MOST computers what ED sais is the best thing to do... or pretty well close. js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

Okay guys I am tried the fdisk and it worked.
But now I get an error message when I try and re-install Win2K ( error loading operating system).
Any suggestions???

I know it's a long wided way and a bit of a balls ache but you could install an earlier versin of Windows (98) and then upgrade to Win 2K. That is if you really cannot make the Win2K bootable. Martin Just trying to help, sometimes falling short, I am only human after all.

try again booting to floppy, and typing
SYS A: C:

when done reboot...
this should help js error; 67 on line; 36 of signature.class

I take it that you are talking about your bootable "DOS C:" drive.

If you have run FDISK to remove the pri partition your drive has no useable FAT table.

Run FDISK and remove all partition from the drive

REBOOT

Run Fdisk and create A pri DOS partition

use max drive space for the PRI DOS

when Fdisk asks you to hit [ESC] to exit

REBOOT

Now run format/C:

reinstall you OS
