How can I hide the 'Task Pain' in Access 2003. I tried Tools-->Customize-->Toolbars, and unchecked it, but it always comes back. Further, when I try to close it by clicking the X, sometimes it won't close, and then the entire app is locked for a minute or so--no menues, can't even close the app itself.
Can anyone help with this? Thanks,

Tools -> Options -> View tab.

Uncheck the Show Startup Task Pane box. This should keep it from coming up on open.

Stray,
Thanks, that seems to have done it...I think I missed that because you need an .mdb open to activate the Options menuitem.
