I have to separate extensions on two 9620 IP phones and I need both to share the same MM voicemail inbox and light up on both phones.

Do I need to create a new coverage path to accomplish this?

CM 6.0 with Modular Messaging

Are you looking for them to have separate passwords or just have MWI on both phones and they share the same pw to access ? Either way I do not believe that you would need a new coverage path ?

Is this for both internal and external calls ??

As there is not really a way to do this where the dedicated message button will light on the phone, but there are workarounds

APSS (SME)
ACSS (SME)
ACIS (UC)

There's "additional extension" in the voicemail. If you make mailbox 1111 with extension 1111 and have "additional extension 2222", then when 2222 covers to MM, MM will answer with mailbox 1111.

You can also use a cellular number as an "additional extension" and if a cell phone calls the voicemail pilot, it'll get prompted just for a password.

Next, on page 1 of the station form, halfway down, on the right, there's "Message lamp ext:2222" on 2222's station form. Try changing that to 1111. You can also use "aut-msg-wt:1111" as a key - but it would just light a key on 2222 and not its larger MWI.

I'm looking to have both extensions use the same inbox and password. With the same message indicator light for both extension.

My post was intended to get you to that result.

Message lamp ext:1111 on page 1 of 2222's station, and add 2222 as an additional extension in MM in mailbox 1111.

That should be enough.

For what its worth, I did just try the "Message lamp ext:1111 on page 1 of 2222's station" and that works.

The additional extension part in MM would make MM see the 2 phones as using the same mbx.

When I do this for users, I go to CMM > attendant management > routing tables >

Incoming called number 1234
business schedule bus1
day service mailbox 7890
night service mailbox 7890

This will redirect all VM away from extension 1234 and route it to 7890

From there I go to ASA and change station XXXX, and tell it on page one what extension the message lamp is located on, or you can add a button with aut-msg-wt xxxx

Hope this helps.

When I do this I cover the second extension to a vdn and in the vector the step is messaging split 99 for extension (1st number)
