As of recent I started receiving an MSDTC error stating:
MS DTC could not correctly process a DC Promotion/Demotion event. MS DTC will continue to function and will use the existing security settings. Error Specifics: %1
The problem is that I have not run a DCPROMO on this Server ever. It was configured many years ago.
With that said, I found a an older thread that dealt with this same problem:
At the bottom of the thread was a step by step process to remove this warning. Is this deamed as a worthy solution? I would rather test this on my test environment. However, I will not have it up and running until this weekend.
Any ideas, or solutions?
* Naviated to Administrative Tools -> Component Services
* Naviated to Console Root -> Component Services -> Computers -> My Computer
* Right-clicked My Computer and clicked Properties
* Selected MSDTC tab
* Clicked "Security Configuration"
* clicked "OK" (without changing any settings)
* Clicked "OK" again (without changing any settings)
* Right-clicked My Computer and clicked "Stop MS DTC"
* Right-clicked My Computer and clicked "Start MS DTC
