How to have mailbox answer 1 line

I have a Norstar 6x16 with StarTalk Mini voicemail. We use AA to answer calls when the operator is not available, which works fine. We now have the need to have one of our lines not be answered by the AA but go directly into a mailbox - and bypass the AA (and the company greeting).

Any ideas if this can be done with the StarTalk Mini? Or would we have to upgrade the voicemail?

If the line is private to one extension ,you can program it to go to the mailbox of that extension after no. of rings in your call forward.But it will not go directely to the mailbox it has to ring the extension first at least one ring then it will go to the mailbox .If you have a newer VM you can feat 984 it will forward directely to your mailbox.You can also try Feat 4 and the VM extension ,it depend on your software.

You need to set the AA not to answer that Line (in F983). Then, assign that line as a private line either to the VM DN ext. (under LINES-Line No-Show-Trunk/Line Data-Show-NEXT-Line Typerivate to:..), or a station extension that you then set to go to VM after 1 or 2 rings, or as already suggested, forward with F984 to the mailbox.

I already have the AA turned off for this line. As for assigning the line as a private line, can I make that line ring on more than one phone?

I have two people that need to be able to answer it. If they are unavailable, it needs to go to the assigned VM.

If 2 people need to answer, do not set to privte. If CallFwd No Answer to vmail is set, it will answer with the earliest port in the system, or the one that has the shortest No Answer Rings. Remember Call Fwd busy and any line programmed to ring on these sets could be affected.
