I am creating a website that has multple images (very small) sliced up using fireworks. I would like to have all of the images load before showing any of them so the page shows as one unit as opposed to having it slowly get pieced together.

Its not an issue with a fast connection, but over a phone line it looks bad.

What code or command (if any) can I use ?

Help is appreciated, thanks in advance.

You can preload the images via JavaScript. Ask your question there. Incidentally, how come you still need to slice up your image. I haven't seen this done lately.

I am using the preload right now within the body onload event.

I have always sliced my images, maybe the need no longer exists.

What is the accepted web size image (I don't have anything over 16kb)?

just remember to add the background color on the container, which resembles that color which your image in general has most of.

I thought the whole point behind slicing up images was (often) to give dialup visitors something to look at while the page loads, rather than having to wait for a big image to load before they see anything. If you're looking for the wait-for-everything-then-see-it-all-at-once experience, surely the easiest way to get it is not to slice up your images?

Good point ChrisHunt... thanks to everybody.

I have removed the slices... images are still very small and page is loading as expected.
