I run a E2K with about 15 Users and it all works fine.
But how do I get Exchange 2000 to deliver all mail to unknown users to user1@mydomain.com

So that if a person sends an email to a user that does not exist it will be delivered to user1@mydomain.com

e.g. myexample@mydomain.com would be delivered to user1@mydomain.com

Regards,
Morten

I am having the exact same problem. I have setup the post master but I still dont recieve and mis addressed mail.

In the default SMTP connector, click properties - Messages and fill in the user1 address in the 'Send Copy of Non Delivery Reports'

Hi Marcs41,
thanks for the tip - but if I do like you suggest, the sender will get a NDR back saying that there's no mailbox with that name?? How do I avoid that - so mail to unknown users at mydomain.com will be received by my user1@mydomain.com anyway ??

Q2:
And what if I host multiple domains on my E2K server - and still only have one SMTP connector - then I would need mail for domain1.com to go to user1@domain1.com and mail for domain2.com to go to user1@domain2.com etc.....

Regards,
Morten

No, you should DISABLE NDR's to the internet, as well as Out of Office messages. This to prevent spammers and relayers to abuse your server.

For multiple domains with 1 connector, you only have 1 address.

Global Settings - Right Click the Default - properties - Addvanced.

the only one that should be on is the bottom one : 'Preserve senders...'

Global Settings - Internet Message Formats - Right Click the Default on the right pane - properties - Addvanced.
