A user has just left the organisation I work for and I want to delete their user accounts and mailboxes (after first exporting her e-mail as a .pst file that is).

However, her e-mail address is still on some stationary that has been sent out so i need to assign her e-mail address to another user that will be in addition to and not replacing their current e-mail address.

If that makes sense!

Is it possible to do this?

Hi, we get this all the time, temp staff come and leave but we need to keep their addresses live!

What we do is delete the unused account (user1) and therefore the address next choose the user who will "adopt" the dead address (user2) go into Active Directory on the Exchange Server and goto the properties of that user, goto the "E-mail Addresses" tab click "New" choose SMTP and type in the full address of the dead email (user1) and click OK. From now on all mail to user1 will go to user2s account.

Hopefully I've not made that sound too complicated, as it's reletivelt simple. You need to make sure that the original address has been removed from the network otherwise Exchnage will tell you that the address already exists.

Regards
Mark
