HI,

I have a compaq server with a total of 16GB of memory. Unfortunately WIN2K advance server can only recognize up to 8GB (add the /PAE flag in the boot.ini file). Does anyone know of a way where I can get the WIN2K advance server to recognize all 16GB?

Note: I am awared that WIN2K DATA SERVER will recognize up to 64GB but I don't have that available.

Thanks.

I don't think so. The /PAE switch is for specific hardware as well. It doesn't run on all chipsets. (Intel Physical Address Extensions)

Also keep in mind that Data Center is available as an OEM distro only, and as such is customized for the hardware it is running on, including SMP and RAM.

If your applications need more memory space, you could try using the /3gb (I think ) switch, to have your apps load above the first 4 GB.
