I am sure this has been asked before, but here goes, I am desperate.
We run W2k/Pro, and we just got a Viewsonic vx2255mb widescreen.
It is an old computer, so I bought a PCI with a Radeon ATI 9250 PCI 256.
After installing everything, I realized that the aspect ratio really made Photoshop unusable, a square did not display as a square.
Okay, just adjust the Horizontal should fix it...Oh, in DVI mode, you can't tune the Horizontal size.
Okay, change to VGA, oh the only "supported" screen resolution that displays correctly (that is a square is a square) is the maximum 16?? (sorry, I am at work so I don't have the detail now. All the others don't quite "square up", the adjustment runs out!
And this one makes the display very, very small. I know I can install larger fonts to remediate some of these problems.
Is there a PCI graphics card that supports widescreen better? I am willing to lose some screen for a truer picture. Is there a driver that can alleviate the problem?
Or should I buy a "standard" aspect monitor?
