How to get w2k to auto shut down instead of button?

when i shut down computer i have to hold in power button when it says that it is safe. how do i get it to auto shut down? thanks:) also does anyone know of computing.net? its a good forum as well. i am new to this forum.

Try Control Panel/ Power Options/ APM tab/ check Enable Advanced Power Management support. If this setting doesn't work or isn't available then your BIOS doesn't support advanced power management.
