How to get thumb drive to map to same letter 1

Trying to run roaming profiles off of a thumb drive. The issue I have is that the drive maps differently on different computers. I tried changing it to F once the user logged in, but seems that setting does not take affect until after the user logs in. However I need it to map that drive prior to someone logging in. Anyone know how to set a default drive letter via regkey or some other way

Try using the diskmgmt.msc tool to remap the drive
(windows xp.sp2)

start/run/diskmgmt.msc

or C:\WINDOWS\system32\diskmgmt.msc

Six dollars to solve the problem sound cheap to me. This is a neat tool!
