how to get the sum of the detailed block

Dear Frends

i'v a quantity colum in the detailed block as well in the master block. now i want the master block quantity to be updated with the sum of all the detail block quantities on each insertion or updation in the detail block.

Assuming you are using at least forms 6, use a summary column.

Unfortunately I think you have to do it manually, because summary column can not belong to master block. Though you may use lewisp's advice if it's possible to copy that value from detail block.
