Hey all,

I recently ran my Antivirus program (Avast) and it found a Trojan? - CSRCS.exe

I got rid of it by moving it to the Avast Virus Chest; but now everytime I start up my computer, I keep getting a pop-up notice that reads:

"Windows cannot find 'csrcs.exe'. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, an then click Search." -- OK --

Anyone know how I can stop this?

BTW, I ran a full antivirus and spyware check and my PC is clean.

Could the problem be with the registry? Perhaps some other program or process is calling the exe file that I'm not aware of.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Start->Run->type "msconfig" without the quotes->Startup->see if the startup item is there and kill it if it is. If it's not there, un-check any entries not related to your security apps that are questionable in the slightest. You can always re-enable them if something does not work properly.

Hey Wahnula,

Thanks for the tip. But it's not showing up in any of the Services or start up items.

Got any other suggestions?

Thanks.
