Hi, I'm a new HP-UX user and here's my problem.

We are just starting to support HP-UX for our product. In the past we have burned the CD master at our office then sent them for duplication.
Well, if I put the CD we make in the HP-UX, all the file names have the ;1 at the end of them.
I have read in many forums about using pfs (?) to fix this. But as far as I can tell I don't have that on the system.
Where can I get it, and will this allow me to burn the CD using the Joliet system? Or should I keep using the ISO9660 format?
Right now neither work.

Thanks for any and all help. We're stumped.

Hi,
try to mount the CDROM using
mount -r -o cdcase /dev/what_ever /what_ever

The o option with cdcase will work and must show you the names in it's real form (I had the same problem and this answer was the simpliest solution).

This CD is probably in RockRidge format.
Add an entry to your /etc/pfs_tab file in this format
<device_file> <mount_point> <filesystem_type> <translation_method>
e.g.
/dev/dsk/c5t2d0 /SD_CDROM pfs-rrip xlat=unix 0
Next start the pfs daemons with the following commands (as root) -
nohup /usr/sbin/pfs_mountd &
nohup /usr/sbin/pfsd &
then insert the CD and run the following to mount the disk -
/usr/sbin/pfs_mount /SD_CDROM
This info is straight off the Oracle CD which always comes in this format.
