I can't remember how stop a "Enter parameter value" pop up box poping up everytime
I click a button on the form. The information is already in a text box on
the form. e.g. I have a company name(in a text box) which is being viewed on the form,
but then i have button where (when clicked) it displays the names of the
contacts (employee) within that company. Now everytime i click this button another
text box appears prompting to enter the company name (which i dont want
as the form already has the company name in the the text box). Also there is a query assigned to the
contact list. In the query is a line

Like [TxtCN] & "*"

TxtCN = Text Box Name

Can anyone help me take this "Enter parameter value" box away, And when clicking the button a form appears without
prompts of entering the data.

I have serches which did the same thing but i corrected them but i don't
remember how.

Thanks

I imagine your query is in the properties box of the control and I don't think that you can do that with dynamic data, so it's asking you to enter the value required to select the company name.
If you create your query in a function and have
=functioname() as your recordsource, I think you'll find it'll work.

You have to refer to the control on the form with the full name ie. Forms! etc

The easiest way to set this up is to open the form and the go into design of the query. Get rid of the criteria you have for company name and use the wizard to build it . You can then select the control from the loaded forms bit. Then add Like before what the wizard has built and & "*" to the end.

HRG,

Check in the query design view. Go to Menu bar -Query-->Parameters. Make sure it's completely blank. That is usually where that darn 'Enter Parameter Value' problem comes up.

Hope that's it.

Paul CHAOS, PANIC, & DISORDER - my work here is done.
