How to get number of hits from Apache? 1

I'm running Apache 1.3 server (which hosts my website) on Solaris 8. I would like to know how I can get the number of hits my website gets? If it can be done by accessing the log files, can you please tell me the steps I should follow to obatin the same?

One easy way is to install Webalizer (

which extracts info from your Apache logs.
