Hi all,

I have been trying to do some shape tweening, and it's very hard to get the results right. If I just want to morph between two very different objects, then the result is fine (and it looks quite cool). But if I want to shape tween between two similar objects, the result can be very undesirable.

For example, I have create two graphics of two states of a waving banner (like a waving banner attached to an airplane's back). The banner has text in it too. I have broken both the banner and the text together, and applied a shape tween to it. The problem is, the banner seems to tween ok, but the text is all messed up. It will do it right for the first three characters of the sentence, but the rest will shrink into a small line thing, and then expand back into the word at the end. Very strange.

Now, my question is, how would I tween it correctly? I don't know how to use Shape Hints very well. Is there a tutorial on Shape Hints someone can point me to? Is a shape hint basically say "this point in the beginning frame should go to this other point in the end frame"?

Thanks!

Willy

hi willy

don't know of any tutorials but i'm sure they're out there. You're right though, the hints do as you think, "a" goes to "a" etc.

If you want to post me the fla I'll have a look. 'Two heads are better than one' as they say.
