Hello. Our mac guy just left the company and I need to get an ip address of a mac. I have no clue what I am doing.

I think they are on OSx 10.

How would I get a terminal up (computer not in front of me, so I have to walk someone through)? And should I do IFCONFIG

Thanks in advance.

Click the apple menu, then About this Mac
In the window that pops up, click the More info button.
This will open the system profiler. Click Network on the sidebar and you'll see the IP there.

If you want to change it, click the Apple menu then System Preferences, then Network icon. You'll see the options to adjust network settings
