Hey Folks,

Seems like a simple question but I have not been able to figure out despite googling it to death. Anyways here goes...

I need to find out the diretory size of folders where NTFS permisions are set for only user access. EG. Profiles.

So I have a Profiles directory and in here my 60+ users each have a folder that only they have acccess to. Basicly I want to audit the size of each of there profiles so I can see where the space is going.... Short of using my backup or Xcopy to copy them to another directory is there not a way in Windows 2000/2003 to see the folder size without having read as an NTFS permission?

Thanks in advance!

Mike

This really seems like something that should be quite easy yet I am still having no luck. Maybe a bump will help. Anyone?

I am not sure of what you are trying to do. The reference to NTFS perms is what is throwing me off.
Are you simply wanting a way to audit directory sizes?
There is a program I have used a while back called Tree Size Pro.
It was very helpful in determining directory sizes en mass.

Yes..... Auditing is exactly what I am trying to accomplish. The NTFS comes up as the users have exclusive rights to there profile directories all the tools seem to fail when you try and get info about these directories.

Make sense? I hope!

Run the tool as a domain administrator. All files and folders should be accessible by the administrators for this reason.
