How to get external IP's

How can I get my external IP? I want to use Romote Desktop, but I need an another way to get my external IP instead of going to a site and having them tell me what it is. Can I use DDNS to connect to Remote Desktop? Thanks for your help.

Why not try one of the free dynamic dns services for this? I use dyndns.org and it works great. That way, when accessing my machine from home, I just use my dyndns.org hostname, and don't need the external IP.

couple of weeks ago. For the client program you need to register and pay before the trial period expires. Is there a free program out there?
