I have a problem where I am wanting a line to copy itself down. I don't really know a good way to explain this but the example would be as followed.

55555 mike smith 09/12/00
mike Smith 10/22/00
mike smith 11/01/00

How would I get the 55555 to copy down by using a formula. I have over 5500 records that are like this and they each have unique numbers. How would my IF statement look ?

Thanks for any help you might have.

I am not sure exactly what you mean. Do you want the 55555 to copy itself to every row that contained Mike Smith, or to every row that contained any name?

yes, I would want the 55555 to copy down to every row that contained Mike Smith.
