how to get colored text 1

i am just trying to make the text portion of my document a color, on the color box there is only a few colors, & the green is bright lime green, when i go to the more colors, it gives a circle spectrum thingy, but when i try to move the spectrum to change the color from bright green, i cant make it a dark green, just get all kinds of other colors. any help will be appreciated,

June, there is a vertical slider on the right side of the color wheel you are refering to, Slide this down and it will darken the entire spectrum.
Under the "edit colors" menu you can also add colors by selecting "new".
