How to get Auto Attendant feature.. what module do I need?

Hello all,

I am new to this Avaya System. I recently took over an office when I started my business. The previous tenant left me the Avaya Telephone System. What was left behind was:

400EC Module R3.1 (TWO)
206E Module R4.1 (TWO)
Processor Module R.1 (One)

I wanted to salvage the system and use it for my business. The current needs I require is Call Forwarding, Automated Attendant, Voicemail, Call Conferencing, and Caller-ID.

The most important feature I need is Automated Attendant and Voicemail. Can someone tell me if my current system has those ability and if not what module I would need to add?

Also is there any User Manuals on how to program the unit?

The equipment you listed didn't include voice mail, which has the Auto Attendant feature. You may need to purchase voice mail for the system. Avaya currently has two units:
[1] Partner Messaging - it is the most robust and uses one of the five bays in your carrier.
[2] Partner Voice Messaging PC Card, which is inserted into the PCMCIA port on the processor.

You could also use an older Avaya refurbished unit or a third-party vm - such as DuVoice, which sits outside the carrier.

The O.P. notes that the processor is an R1. As I understand it, the Partner Voice Messaging can be used with Partner ACS R1.1 or newer processors.

If the processor is a Partner ACS, pressing "FEATURE 5 9" from a system telephone with a display will show the release.

The system, as carded, will support 6 telephone lines and 6 extensions or maybe more....depending on what processor is there.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
 
You could also use a Partner Mail (stand-alone unit). It plugs into extension ports on the 206 modules. They are a little hard to find these days though.
 
I'd be leery about going with a Partner Mail given that they have been off the market for quite a while, the scarcity of replacement hard drives and that Avaya no longer supports them.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
