There may lots of Sources of error:

Main reason: Have you enabled TCP/IP in your local mac network?
Are there address conflicts?
Is the port mapping ok?
Is the Proxy server configuration correct installed on the mac?

I just had installed the Wingate Proxy in a hetero Network (Mac and Windows9X/NT) and there was no big problem.

hnd
hasso55@yahoo.com
