how to generate a license key for a software

hello guys,

i have created an software in MS Access and i want to distribute the software.
i want to generate a license key for my software.
i could get the harddisk srno & i want to convert it as a license key for my software.

how can i do it..?

if anybody knows about this, pl reply.
