I have to transfer Log files between unix servers. The problem on one end is that there is a firewall. There is a FTP site where they are going to put the files that I need to pick up. My UNIX server is not connected to the internet. Could some one please suggest some ways to accomplish this task.

thanks in advance

Kumar

Is a proxy your firewall? Try explainig better (with names or addresses what you want to do)

I hope it works...

Unix was made by and for smart people.

tar the files and email it to the ftp-site.
there must be someone you know at that site?

..explain some more about the firewall and your other connections (LAN ,WAN? etc)

Hi:
If you have dfs installed I believe you can just copy from one server to the other like this. Not sure though but it is worth a try. They key is knowing the server name you are copying to and don't forget the /.../ before the servername and make sure you are in the directory you are copying the files from.

cp file /.../server.u.com/directory/subdirectory/

name name directory subdir
of of
file server

I hope this works
