Just built a new P4 system with two 120Gb SATA Maxtor Disks on a MSI875P Neo FIS2R mobo. No problem in regonition of both drives in BIOS and have loaded XP on first disk(C:)quite happily.

But the problem is that MY COMPUTER or EXPLORER don't recognize the second disk which is still unformatted and XP did not give an option at the time of installation.

Any help/advise to format second disk and get XP to recognise it will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Novice01,

You have to partition the HD before you can format it, hence, use it:

Control Panel -> Admistrative Tools -> Computer Management -> (storage -> disk management).

Good luck §;O)
