How to format and initialize a disk? 1

Hi.

I Just bought my Octane and I want to format and initialize all disks, it has 3 disks, No. 1 IBM 9 GB, No. 2 and 3 Seagate Cheetah 9 GB.

Could any one tell me how can I do it? or just a link with the procedure.

Go to and perform a search with words "format disk" and you are there. The first hit "IRIX Admin: Disks and Filesystems : Chapter 2. Performing Disk Administration Procedures" is full of information.
