You can rewire the cable to pull the signal high on that pin. Just dont forget to mark the cable as a custom one or you may get yourself into trouble when you have forgotten about it ;-)

Well Mike ..it has nothing to do with octopus cable and I dont believe chat script could help because as I sad serial interface are configured to be DCE ...am not connecting modem to router, I am connecting router to Honeywell Datanet
communication processor which is DTE in this case.

OK.. I dont know of any software tricks to do what you want on all sixteen cables. All my *conversions* have required either a custom cable or a hacked null-modem adapter inserted into the line which avoids taking the cable apart(mostly for 3174s). Have you tried calling TAC and see if they have any tricks up their sleeves?
