How to force clean up old index directories manually by command line in networker to reclaim some space on the backup server

What do you mean by 'cleanup'? - If you moved the indexes to another location, simply adjust the index pathname (from the client name)and delete the old directories.

If you want to physically compress the databases, this was only necessary until NW 5.x . Since version 6, obsolete file index data is deleted automatically. The only way to cut the indexes is to shrink the browse time.

If you need more space and you must keep the current indexes, you may either relocate them or simply add more disk space.

605, if EMC's NetWorker doesn't have a means to clean up old client indexes, just say so. Don't come back with a wimpy answer like that; it's insulting. If you can't help, just leave it alone.

Hello Zebort,

how can you consider the response of 605 as insulting ?

The original question is not clear : is it to reclaim space on EXISTING index or is it to CLEAN old indexes ?

Keep cool...
