How to force an upgrade firmware on a 9630G.

Is there a way to force an Avaya 9630G to take a firmware upgrade from 3.0 to 3.280A ? My Cm is at software level 8.1
I have several phones some how got down graded from 3.25 to 3.0. No mater what I do I cant get these phones to take a firmware upgrade to 3.28.

It is possible the phones will never upgrade. There was a developer certificate which expired which may prevent the phones from upgrading. You may want to try in interim upgrade to 3.1.5 first then to 3.2.x. If I remember correctly after upgrading from 3.1.5 the phone may boot but the display doesn't look correct. Disconnecting the phone and reconnecting will clean up the display.
