How to flash a Cisco 7960 with SIP? 1

I found this on the web but I'm stuck -

can I use my laptop as the tftp server? How?

can I use the DHCP server on my lynksys router? how?

what is XMLDefault.cnf.xml?

Is there a more straight-forward way to flash a 7960 at home?

You are going to have to become familiar with XML files, tftp servers and DHCP server options.

There is. Use a Cisco Callmanager phone system to do the work for you.
Otherwise, you will have to duplicate the "automated" system yourself using, DHCP, TFTP, the phone config Files, and the SIP image.

Then phone provisioning tools of the asterisk system will do some of the heavy lifting for you, but you still need to use their DHCP, TFTP, etc.

That is just how these things work.

No One said that VoIP is supposed to be easy, sometimes you have to "roll up your sleeves" and get a little dirty...

I did it! I followed the instructions here:

I used PumKIN for my TFTP

Now I need it register to my Asterisk server....hmmmm\\
