I have a SUNFire V880 with Fiber NIC's and Copper NIC's.

I am trying to find a way out the model # and Manufacture of these NIC's without shutting down the server and removing them.

Is there such a way to do this?

This is a SPARC system also incase you are wondering.

I have tried kstat and ifconfig but neither give me a module number or manufacture.

Does /usr/platform/`uname -i`/sbin/prtdiag -v show you what you need?

This is what i get for the print out.

Our V880s appear to use quad gigabit ethernet cards which are listed as follows in prtdiag:

[tt]I/O PCI 8 B 0 33 33 5,0 ok pci-pci8086,537c.7/network (netw+ PCI-BRIDGE
I/O PCI 8 B 0 33 33 0,0 ok network-pci100b,35.30 SUNW,pci-x-qge/pci-bri+
I/O PCI 8 B 0 33 33 1,0 ok network-pci100b,35.30 SUNW,pci-x-qge/pci-bri+
I/O PCI 8 B 0 33 33 2,0 ok network-pci100b,35.30 SUNW,pci-x-qge/pci-bri+
I/O PCI 8 B 0 33 33 3,0 ok network-pci100b,35.30 SUNW,pci-x-qge/pci-bri+[/tt]

I suspect yours is a single port gigabit card. Do they show as ceN devices in ifconfig -a? The driver package for ce devices is SUNWced, which is described as "Sun GigaSwift Ethernet Adapter (32-bit Driver)", so that may be what you have.
