CAN'T GET SOUND OUT OF COMPUTER

That's like "My car won't start". We need some info about the system and what exacxtly is the problem you are having, and what you have tried to do to fix it.

SORRY. i CANT GET ANY SOUND OUT OF THE COMPUTER. i HAVE GONE TO THE CONTROL PANEL, TO CHECK SOUND AND RECEIVED MESSAGE NO AUDIO DEVICE FOUND IN VOLUME CONTROL IN HARDWARW UNDER DEVICE I HAVE UNIMODEM HALF DUPLEX AUDIO DEVICE, AND ITS SUPPOSE TO BE WORKING PROPERLY. I'VE CONNECTED MY SPEAKERS TO MY LAPTOP AND CAN HEAR WELL OUT OF THEM, SO I WONDER IF SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE SOUND CARD.

The "unimodem" is for sound events from your modem, not an audio problem. Download and run "Everest Home". It is a program that will tell you everything about what is in your computer. You need to go into "Device Manager" and see if you even have a sound card installed. (Left "Windows" key+"pause/break" keys at same time {select hardware}). Did the sound ever work, or is this a new system? What OS? Win98 - XP - ?

ps - when you type in all caps, it is like shouting in normal conversation - not proper.
